over one of the Canaima Park covering 30,000 square km, where you will
be able to have magnificent views of the mountains, grand rivers crisscrossing
the vast landscape and waterfalls cascading from the edge of the tepuys.
Trek through in the land that inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to write
his science fiction novel about the Lost World. Climb to the summit
of Roraima Tepuy (8,026 feet) and experience its unique flora of endemic
insectivorous plants, giant bromeliads and capricious orchids. Explore
the Crystal Valley and walk the most impressive rock formations considered
to be over 1.8 million years old. Camp by pristine rivers with magnificent
views of Roraima National Park and spend time learning about the native
traditions of the Pemon people.
ITINERARY

DAY 01
CARACAS
Upon arrival in Venezuela, the group will meet your
local guide who will drive us to the hotel in Caracas for the night.
DAY 02
CIUDAD BOLIVAR
After breakfast, your guide will take you to the
airport for a 1-hour flight to the colonial city of Ciudad Bolivar,
located on the Orinoco River. After checking in at the hotel you will
visit the local Indigenous museum. Then go for stroll in the Colonial
area of town and enjoy the sunset at the boardwalk and try spotting
fresh water dolphins swimming in the mighty Orinoco River. B,L,D
DAY 03
PERAY TEPUY
After breakfast you will take a 2-hour flight over
the Canaima National park and land in the town of Santa Elena de Uairen.
The Canaima Park covers 30.000 square km, which makes it the sixth largest
national park in the world. With good weather during your flight you
will be able to have magnificent views of the mountains, grand rivers
crisscrossing the vast landscape and waterfalls cascading from the edge
of the tepuys. After arrival you will board your 4WD vehicles and drive
off road for 2-hours to the native Pemon village of Perai-tepuy where
will sleep in a tented camp. B,L,D
DAY 04
KUKENAM RIVER
If the morning is clear you will be able to see the
Roraima and Kukenam tepuys at the distance. After preparing the porters
the walk begins through savanna vegetation with several creek crossings.
After you cross the Kukenam River, you will set the tents for the night.
From this camp there is a stunning view of the southeast face of Roraima
and Kukenam with its 1,968 ft waterfall. B,L,D
DAY 05
RORAIMA TEPUI - BASE CAMP
Today the trail is uphill and will take us directly
to the base of Roraima's wall. From this camp you can see endless views
of the valley and the amazing effect of the golden sunset rays on the
tepuy's wall. Your camp is at 6,560 feet above sea level. B,L,D
DAY 06
RORAIMA TEPUI - SUMMIT
Today you will reach the summit following the same
path British explorer Im Thurn did in 1884 during the first ever climb
to the summit of Roraima. Today's hike is spectacular due to the magnificent
vegetation you will encounter. As you enter the cloud forest huge bromeliads,
beautiful orchids, palms and primitive tree like ferns will greet us.
Once on top the tents will be set in natural overhanging rocks that
provide shelter from wind and rain. The camp will be set at 8,036 feet

DAY 07
RORAIMA TEPUI SUMMIT EXPLORATION
Today you explore the wonders of the Tepuy discovering
the secrets of the "Crystal Valley" and the Pit, home of the White-collared
Swift. You will have the rare opportunity to observe different forms
of endemism like the Drosera Roraima and Helianfora nutans pitcher plants,
both insectivorous plants. You will walk through a landscape sculptured
by wind and water with stone sculptures, natural bridges and crevices.

DAY 08
TEK RIVER
After breakfast you will begin retracing your steps
down the cloud forest path, stopping for lunch at your original base
camp before continuing to Riotek located on the other side of the Kukenam

DAY 09
SANTA ELENA DE UAIREN
Today you will continue your walk to Perai-tepuy
where you will have lunch while enjoying a final look of Roraima. After
loading the vehicles, you will depart towards Santa Elena de Uairé,
a small mining town near the Brazil border. On the way you will stop
for a swim at the famous Jasper creek. Accommodations at Santa Elena
will be in a small lodge. Tonight you will have your farewell dinner.

DAY 10
PUERTO ORDAZ - CARACAS
After breakfast you board your plane to Puerto Ordaz
with connecting flight to Caracas. Transfer to hotel for overnight.
