ABOUT BOYD NORTON:
Boyd Norton has been a photographer and writer of international reputation
for almost thirty-five years. He is the author/photographer of thirteen
books, the most recent being:
- The Art of Outdoor Photography
- Baikal: Sacred Sea of Siberia (with Peter Matthiessen)
- The African Elephant (Foreword by Richard Leakey)
- The Mountain Gorilla
- Boyd Norton's PhotoJournal
He has two more books to be published in 2006: Safari Journal II and Serengeti Wild.
His articles and photo essays have appeared in Time, National Geographic,
Audubon, Smithsonian, Conde Nast's Traveler, Stern, Vogue, Travel-Holiday,
Outdoor Photographer, Popular Photography, The New York Times, and many
other publications worldwide. Active in environmental issues for over
three decades, he has received awards from the Environmental Protection
Agency and Robert Redford for his "environmentally exciting writing and
photography." He serves on the board of directors of Baikal Watch and
is a past trustee for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
Boyd is a pioneer in eco-tourism and photography workshops. He has conducted
photo tours and workshops worldwide since 1973. He has made numerous trips
to Peru, Tanzania, Chile, and Belize.

ABOUT MARIO CORVETTO:
Mario Corvetto, as director of Andean and Rainforest Expeditions, designs
and leads ecological and cultural travel expeditions to Peru, Chile and
Venezuela. As a photographer for over 20 years, Mario's images reflect
his profound connection to the people and their countries, and his work
is an integral part of his ongoing activity in ecotourism. Mario, a native
Peruvian, has also lived and worked in Italy, Venezuela, England and Bosnia-
Herzegovina, where he created an image bank to support and promote non-profit
organizations including the American Refugee Committee, World Vision International,
and the Catholic Relief Service.

ABOUT JOHN SLAUGHTER:
John is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and formerly worked in the
financial industry for Morgan Stanley, First Union, and other firms.
Among his many talents, John is also a well published photographer/photo
journalist. He has conducted workshops in photography, both digital and
conventional, for Leica camera and Shutterbug magazine. The author of
three books, his latest is Brother in the Bush which one reviewer called
"a beautifully written, riveting memoir of self-examination" about his
journeys in East Africa. John has traveled and photographed extensively
in Kenya and Tanzania and is particularly knowledgeable about Maasai and
Hadza cultures. In addition, his intimate knowledge of wildlife behavior
makes for excellent photographic opportunities and natural history observations.
