opportunity to visit one of the most biodiverse rainforests remaining
in the world, with over 1,300 species of birds including the rare Harpy
Eagle. Your first day will include an overnight stay at Posada Amazonas,
a lodge jointly owned by Rainforest Expeditions and the Native Community
of Infierno where you will have ample opportunity observe birds while
walking the trails and visiting the oxbow lake and canopy tower. On
the second day you will take a motorized canoe up the Tambopata river
to stay at the rustic but comfortable Tambopata Research Center, the
only lodge/research center located within 3.7 million acre Tambopata
National Reserve. Among the many bird watching opportunities one of

lick, where hundreds of parrots and macaws of up to 15 species congregate
daily to ingest the detoxifying clay. The clay lick is less than 500
meters from Tambopata Research Center.
